Our Favorite Lunch Spots (Right Now)

 

Working downtown Denver is great because there are so many options for lunch! Bringing lunch to work tends to get old and boring and to be honest, we love going out to eat. We have tried almost everything on and around the 16th St. Mall over our many years at Modworks, but we wanted to share with you some spots that we are currently obsessing over!

 

City Grille

 

City Grille is a tavern that serves American style food and is located at 321 E. Colfax Ave. It’s only about a 10 minute walk from the office. It has a hole in the wall feel to it and the food is delicious. This is definitely our favorite spot for a sit down meal and a lunch beer. They have one of the best burgers in town and the prices are super affordable. You can’t go wrong with the Award Winning Steakburger or the Hangover Burger!

 

Pizzeria Colore

 

Who doesn’t love pizza?! Pizzeria Colore is located at 1647 Court Pl which is conveniently two blocks away from the office and is a fast casual Italian lunch restaurant. They serve New York style pizzas along with calzones, subs, salads, etc. The owners, Kevin and Sean, always have a positive, upbeat attitude and really care about their customers. They make all of the food daily, so it’s always fresh. We love to pop in for a quick slice or two during a busy workday! 

 

Bubu

 

Bubu is located at 303 16th St #3 which is in the Republic Plaza Building. They offer build your own bowls and we’d have to say that this is the healthiest spot for lunch on the 16th St. Mall. You pick a base of either white or brown rice, greens, or rice noodles and then add a protein, and your choice of 5 locally-sourced vegetables/toppings. A bowl from Bubu will leave you feeling good, energized and ready to tackle the rest of your workday!

 

 

Curtis Park Delicatessen

 

Curtis Park Delicatessen is a neighborhood deli is located at 2532 Champa St. This place is our new found love and we have been going there weekly ever since we discovered it. It’s a bit farther away from the office but it is so worth it. They serve the freshest deli sandwiches in town. All of their food is locally sourced and they even make their own condiments! The Italian is our go-to. Salame rosa, pepperoni, calabrese, arugula, asiago cheese, house-made aioli and house-made red wine vinaigrette - yes please!

 

Lime

 

If you haven’t been to Lime for Taco Tuesday yet, you need to do so immediately. Lime is located at 500 16th St. Mall #322 which is in the Denver Pavillions. On Tuesday’s, they offer $1 tacos with a purchase of any beverage. You do have to sit down in the restaurant in order to get this deal, but they’ll get you in and out before your lunch break is even over. Order chips and salsa as a side too. Their chips are probably the best we’ve ever tasted. They are freshly made and beyond delicious. You won’t regret it! Taco Tuesday at Lime is an awesome way to get our members together for lunch!
