With school re-opening plans in a constant state of flux, Modworks is shifting its focus to offer tutoring solutions for students and coworking space for parents starting August 24th. Reservations are open and can be made online at www.modworkstutor.com. Modworks will provide three tutoring sessions to choose from each workday. Each session will be guided by a trained and accredited tutor and focused on a specific age range. In addition to the in-person resources each student will have access to a computer, fault tolerant wifi, snacks and other learning resources.
“The idea is to take some of the load off of working parents who may be stretched too thin balancing the tasks of helping their students stay on track and accomplishing their own work. At the same time this will help give students additional support to stay focused and on track as we wait for things to go back to normal.” Founder John Borst says.
The Cost of tutoring is $50 per student per session. Admission includes a three-hour tutoring session for the student and a day pass to the coworking facility for the parents. While students meet with tutors in a focused, Covid safe environment the parents can utilize all of the amenities the coworking space offers including local coffee, over 2 gigabytes of internet bandwidth, meeting and conference rooms, free printing, private phone rooms and much more.
“Interest has been very high and we quickly realized that this kind of support is seriously needed.” Borst continues. “Although we hope things return to normal for everyone soon, we want to do our part to create a tangible resource that parents and students can actually benefit from in the mean time.”
