We should have known it would happen. We’re really happy it did happen. Finding a parking spot on the street in cities around the world, including Denver, just got easier. Have a choice between nearby parking garages, and want to find the most affordable one without having to walk a long way? That just got easier to do, too.

When Modworks first opened, we decided to make it a point to assist our members and guests to find the most affordable parking options around downtown Denver - preferably the closest ones to the space. While we are still happy to do so, now there are apps that help users find street parking or garage parking, and even list the price. That way, all you have to do is download the apps for up to date hourly, daily, and monthly rates.

Modworks is in a centrally located part of Downtown Denver, but we are in a building without its own dedicated parking. People take public transportation, bike, or drive their own cars and try to get as close as they can to the office without having to pay an arm and a leg. Therefore, it became important to us, and to our building’s management to inform them of the parking options nearby when welcoming a new member, a potential member, or if the space holds an event.

Now, apps like SpotHero and Parker integrate with maps programs like Google Maps or Apple Maps to offer real time spot availability, and list their price. You can even book a spot in a garage through the app, and pay for it from the palm of your hand. There is also an app that works in some places to allow users to pay for their street parking through the app, instead of walking up to the pay box, using a credit card and having to put a receipt in their windshield. The apps also show free parking on their maps.

As we mentioned, these apps are not Denver-specific either. While they are a great way to find parking for work every day, they can also be used to find a spot in big cities around the world. While not specifically designed with coworking spaces in mind, the versatility of the apps provides a huge benefit for our members.

This is yet another advancement in technology to make coming to work at Modworks easier and more enjoyable.
