3 Things to Do in Denver December 2018

12.12.18

The holiday season is among us and there are so many festive things to do in Denver this December. Bring your family for these paid for and free events that Modworks, a coworking space located in the heart of downtown Denver, has compiled.

We created this list of the top 3 things to do in Denver this December by referencing local listings and asking some of our savvy coworking members.

Denver Botanic Gardens Blossoms of Light

For over three decades Denver Botanic Gardens has hosted a dazzling and ever-changing light display throughout its venue. This local tradition has sparked years of memories for many families including annual traditions, birthday parties, and even engagements. They host special “seasonal color” nights to get you in the holiday spirit. Pairing this night with a cup of their hot cocoa is also highly recommended.

This interactive light display features an expansive field of sound-reactive LED lights. With more than thirty years recreating the display it has become larger and more refined every year. Enjoy this event that’s sure to entertain the whole family for a nominal fee. Members of the Botanic Gardens also receive two complimentary tickets!

Online Price: Adults (16+) - $16 | Child (3 - 15) - $12 | Infants (2 or younger) - Free

The Denver Christkindl Market

A classic tradition that brings authentic German and European holiday traditions to Denver. Opening in November, the Christkindl Market has options for those of every age. Browse the bazaar, enjoy daily live music, dance with friends, sample savory delicacies, or pick up some schnapps to stay warm during the cold Colorado winter. The market spans several blocks and can easily offer you a full afternoon and evening of entertainment.

Check out some of our favorite local vendors with your family and friends like Knodel Haus featuring traditional and delicious central European dumplings. Munch on some Blinchiki by Gugu International, Russian style crepes filled with savory meats and cheeses to form a tasty, portable meal. Finally, stop into Kogler’s Bakery for fresh and traditional European pastries for dessert.
